Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop: February 19, 2016

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly book meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.  Each week, there is a new prompt for writers and bloggers alike. This week’s question, submitted by Silver,

Do you have a favourite place to read?

This is a bit difficult to answer, surprisingly. I’ve never really thought about where I read. I guess, I’ve always figured if the book was good, I wouldn’t realise where I was. It’s happened before, reading on buses only to realise you’ve missed your stop and have to scramble out, same on subways.

Most of my reading used to be done on my long commutes to and from work, about an hour just sitting or standing on trains and buses. It felt like the perfect escape, save when you have to rush out the doors. Now, I split my reading time between in bed at home (especially now that I bought a lovely new bedrest pillow thing) and while at the gym. If I had to choose between those two, at home wins hands down. I guess to pretzel up into weird poses, snuggle in my blanket, enjoy a hot cup of tea, and make all the weird faces and sounds I want in reaction.

What about you? Where do you prefer reading, or find yourself doing the majority of your reading?

I’ve neve been on a train or a public bus, so I have no idea if I could read on them. However, back in my elementary days in the early 90s, I would read on the bus during field trips.

I tend to do most of my reading in bed though I’d like to read more outside or in this big comfy chair I have. I’m impressed that you can get reading reading done during your commute! I tend to get distracted when I read in public so I always envy people who are deep in their books!

Oh my goodness, if I had a view like yours, I feel like I’d never be back inside (in the spring and summer at least)

Oh, you’re so funny! I love the reasons you enjoy reading in bed! Lol. Some novels do indeed make you a nervous wreck, and take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. The series I’m reading now — the Vampire Academy series — is like that. I’ve dealt with the emo stuff by reading ahead to find out what happens, ha ha!

I read in bed occasionally, but my two favorite places are in our living room.

Happy Reading! Have a great weekend!! 🙂

Oh man, I remember the Vampire Academy books! Those were definitely read in bed books so I could just facepalm and gasp the entire way through 🙂

I envy you your commute reading time! I can read just about anywhere and block the world around me out.
