Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday – March 7, 2016

Man Crush Monday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Roadside Reader meant to show some loving to our favourite literary males! From obvious choices like your Jace Herondales and Mr. Darcys, to more obscure or debateable characters such as the Nicolas de Lenfents or Heathcliffs of the world, here is your chance to make your case on their behalf!

Feel free to use our Man Crush Monday banner when posting on your own blog, and please link back so others can join as well!

Today’s MCM is…. Stefano Uccello, the Scooby Doo loving vampire ‘friend’ of Mercy Thompson, in honour of tomorrow’s latest release in the series, Fire Touched!

Pale, dark haired, dark eyed Italian vampire, Stefan has been the most decent vampire out of the series. He feeds, yes, but he cares for those feeds off of. He is loyal to a fault, unwilling to fight against his mistress even when she wronged him (or so he thought at the time).

Stefan Uccello

Shh, I know that’s Mitchell from BBC Being Human, but he makes for a convincing Stefan too.

But at the same time, he isn’t your typical broody vampire. He’s fun! He drives around in a van painted like the Mystery Machine. He enjoys movie nights with friends and loves making pop culture references. He shirks away from the goth look, preferring a regular pair of jeans and t-shirt.

Whenever Stefan arrives in a book, I automatically feel better because yayay, someone I LIKE. I mean, don’t get me wrong, alpha werewolf Adam and Samuel are great too, but far too serious and severe. I’m not really a fan of the whole I’m a manly man and I protect everyone rawr I am macho kind of attitude (not always anyway). So having Stefan in the series is like a breath of fresh air.
